MUMMA
Mothers United in Mediating Mutual Alliances
Mothers United in Mediating Mutual Alliances (MUMMA) is a grassroots organization that has emerged from the wombs of Black women. Black women stand in solidarity with mothers of all races and backgrounds who advocate on behalf of children and youth.
In other words, at MUMMA, mothers unite with everyone (people from all genders and backgrounds) who do the necessary mothering work that has been performed traditionally by women. Engagement requires mutual alliances which result from effective mediation and open communication. Shared interests and ongoing communication yield mutual alliances.
